Artist in Residence Carrie Moore 2008
Carrie Moore…. Carrie is a professional artist and designer who has lived and worked in Clackamas County for over 24 years. With a strong base in the Graphic Arts, she’s had clients that include Willamette Falls Hospital Foundation, Clackamas County, Clackamas Community College Foundation, METRO, PGE and others. She has designed logos for area dentists, business owners, local schools, and created site design for events and fundraisers. Her passion for art and her love of sharing with kids has led her into the classroom working with K-8 students, teaching her unique residency. A graduate of Marylhurst University, Carrie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with her areas offocus in fine art and communications. She resides in Oregon City with her husband Jeff, and has two daughters who both attend college. She is passionate about the out-of-doors, and those connections with nature serve as inspiration for much of her fine art pastel drawings and print work. Her block prints are represented by Print Arts Northwest in Portland, Oregon. She has most recently been invited onto the roster of Young Audiences as a visual artist/educator beginning in July ‘09.
About her Artist Residencies in Schools…“create, discover, believe, share…” Carrie’s mission is to share her passion for art with kids from kindergarten through 8th grade, by focusing on the Elements of Design and how they relate to the world around us. Byapplying her unique teaching process and encouraging creativity, she celebrates students artwork through presentation as public art.
