2008-2009 Lego Team
Following a longstanding TRCS tradition, the TRCS Lego team has again entered the annual First Lego League challenge. The First Lego League (FLL) tournament consists of two parts—“The Game” and “The Project”. This year the theme is Climate Change.
The Game
Throughout the Fall, we’ll be learning how to design and program a Lego robot. As part of the tournament, we’ll let our robot loose on a 4’ x 8’ playing field and it will have 150 seconds to complete as many missions as possible. Along the way we’ll get some practice in writing up lab reports on our experiments and we’ll learn how to write robot progams that make sense to both our NXT robot and the rest of our team.
The Report
We team will be researching how climate change could affect us in the West-Linn/Wilsonville area. Will it be hotter? colder? wetter? drier? We plan to find out and propose some solutions to deal with change. If these questions are of interest to you, please check back here in December and we’ll share with you what we’ve found out.
