TRCS Goals & Visions
The educational philosophy of the Three Rivers Charter School is grounded in the firm belief that all children deserve an education that will allow them to lead a successful and productive life. We further believe that the education students receive must be relevant and meaningful to them, and must also provide the tools and skills necessary to lead a successful and productive life in the 21st century.
At the heart of this mission lies a belief that students respond to high expectations that are attainable and clearly stated. Curriculum must be designed and tailor-made to assess, instruct, and inspire students to achieve their personal best. We believe that it is an intrinsic desire of all people, regardless of age or ability, to progress and eventually achieve their dreams. Knowledge and education are cornerstones for this journey.
Emotional intelligence, character development, and personal management skills should form an inherent and integral part of schooling. Students must be empowered to take responsibility for their learning and development. The school should facilitate the learning process within an environment that encourages high ethical standards and reinforces the positive values taught at home through frequent parent, teacher, and student communication.
While the students form the basis of our mission, it is only through extended connection with families and the community at large that long-lasting and permanent empowerment can occur. We will provide assistance to parents to guide and nurture their children toward the goal of being productive citizens. Through extended relationships, students and families remain connected and invested in their continued growth. Staff and parents working together with a common belief in our shared vision for each student (see Mission Statement) will further support the students in their educational journey. Led into the future by passionate and caring individuals, our society can become a coalition of life-long learners’ intent upon positive change.
