Geometry

Course Description

The geometry class completes the curriculum of the McDougal Littell text Geometry this term.  In chapters 9-12, the students will learn the relationships within right triangles, including trigonometry, the concepts related to circles (tangents, arcs, chords, inscribed angles and polygons, circumscribed polygons, equations of circles, circumference/perimeters, and area of those figures), and surface area and volume of special 3-dimensional figures (mostly prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres).        Besides textbook curriculum, our term will include an Independent Project/Project-Based Learning math problem designed to go along with their IP/PBL study.  This work will be displayed on each student's project board on IP Night on June 11th.
