Enrollment and Lottery Information
The Public Lottery for the 2023-24 school year has concluded. If you are interested in adding your student to the waiting list for the 2023-24 school year please email our school office at [email protected] to obtain a link to the post-lottery admission form. Once we receive your submission, we will add your student's name to the next wait list slot available.
Enrollment for 2024-25 School Year

Enrollment Information for Prospective Students
Each year, we have found that the number of students who would like to attend TRCS outnumbers the spaces that are available. We hold a public lottery each year to assure that everyone has the same opportunity. To be eligible for enrollment, the first qualification to be considered is that the interested student must reside in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District 51% of the time. The other qualification is that the student is eligible for the grade levels offered at TRCS (4th-8th grades) based on birth date for the enrollment year.
Application Process
If your student meets the above criteria, the next step is to decide if Three Rivers Charter School is a good choice for your child and family. Read about our program, review our Frequently Asked Questions, and if you want more information please attend an Information Session and Open House. Please note: attending an Information Session and Open House are completely optional and not required to apply to Three Rivers Charter School. The Info Sessions and Open House do not require an RSVP and are geared towards adults, though prospective students are welcome to attend.
If Three Rivers Charter School looks like a good educational option for your family, the next step is to submit an application for the lottery.
The application period will open on May 1, 2024 and will be posted here. There is no preference given to those who apply early, but you must submit the application by the deadline - 4:00 pm on May 20, 2024. Our lottery will be conducted via Zoom at 4:30 pm on May 23, 2024, for the 2024-25 school year. Parents will be notified of placement results after grade and residence eligibility are determined with the West Linn-Wilsonville School District office. Siblings of currently enrolled students (at the time of the lottery) can bypass the lottery process and are offered an automatic spot. As an example: if you enter two students into the lottery and only one is offered enrollment, your other student must wait until the following school year to enroll.

We will host three information sessions before the lottery. Dates and location of the informational meetings are:
April 3, 2024, 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at Three Rivers Charter School
April 10, 2024, 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at the Wilsonville Public Library
April 17, 2024, 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at the West Linn Public Library
Open House
This year's open house is on April 24, 2024. This is an early release day for WLWV primary schools. Students are encouraged to join. Tours are from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm and take about 15 minutes. Classes will be in session, so please limit your time and distractions to our learning environment.
Lottery & Enrollment Offers
Once you have submitted your application and attended the events, we invite you to join our live public lottery via Zoom at 4:30 pm on May 23. The lottery is not held in person. A Zoom link will be posted here. The lottery essentially builds our waitlist, so once we know enrollment numbers of our current students, we will begin to build next year's class lists, beginning with the top of each grade's waitlist. We do not know in advance how many spots will be available in each grade, though there are typically the most available for our incoming 4th grade. You will receive more information and results via email or telephone the week after the lottery. If your child is selected for enrollment based on random lottery selection and room in the grade level, you will be given a short period of time (typically 24 hours) to give TRCS a final decision. We ask that families have the important conversation about attending Three Rivers Charter School well in advance of the lottery, so that you are prepared to give an answer and we can move forward with the enrollment process for all students.

*Please note, the procedure for the lottery is first ensuring that every student (assigned a random number) in each grade level is in the "hopper". This means that you will hear your student's assigned number twice. The first time to ensure you know it's in the hopper, the second to know the order on the waitlist. This also means that your student, entering 4th grade, has the same number as a student entering 7th grade. We pull each grade level separately.
Waiting List
If there is not room for your student, the student will remain on the waiting list. Parents will be notified of your student's position on the list and we will call you as soon as there is an opening for your child. While we are happy to answer any further questions you have at that time, parents need to be prepared to make a quick decision regarding enrolling at Three Rivers Charter School. Often this isn’t until well into summer, so be aware there may be no further opportunity to learn about our program or ask questions if you don’t participate in the resources we are offering during May.
