6th Grade Social Studies

This term, we are looking at the Western Hemisphere (no small area!) through the ages. We are specifically discussing borders and how they come to exist as well as agreements between countries and the winners and losers of such agreements (and sometimes disputes). We will also spend time analyzing maps and exploring how boundaries and borders impact cultural regions. Finally, in our Connections class, we will explore current issues in the Western Hemisphere and how they connect to us and/or affect us. The Social Studies and Connections class will share a grade book and an end-of-term grade.
