6/7/8 Social Studies - Bremont

Term Two of 6/7/8 Social Studies is a continuation of the standards from Term One, but it brings a new focus on history and the connection between the past, present, and future of Western Civilization. We will start with learning about the systems of recording time, then move into a brief study of the major historical events of the last several billion years. From there, we will zoom in on a few major social, political, and economic groups and analyze the complex events and circumstances in our history that led to present-day events and circumstances. Our focus will be the cause and effect relationships between our past and our present. The format of the class will vary, but will center largely on discussion and analysis.
